Pediatric Emergency Department
Our graduates are well prepared and comfortable caring for ill children. Not only do we spend more time than recommended by the RRC, the time spent is with high acuity patients under the supervision of the best pediatric clinicians in the area.
Ranked as one of the country's best children's hospital, Schneider's is a tertiary care, level 1 trauma children's hospital.
Every pediatric subspecialty is represented here and patients from around the metro New York area are transferred here for advanced care.
The emergency department is supervised by pediatric emergency medicine attendings 24 hours/7 days/week. The full time pediatric faculty are all subspecialty boarded in pediatric emergency medicine.
The Pediatric Emergency Division is distinct from the adult area; with a separate waiting room, treatment rooms and a pediatric trauma area. These areas are equipped with state-of-the-art pediatric patient monitoring and patient care equipment. The emergency department also provides round-the-clock X-rays as well as accessibility to emergency ultrasonography and CT scanning.
